Congratulations to Para-Site Hong Kong!
Last night I attended the auction and fundraiser dinner for Para/Site Hong Kong - a multidisciplinary non-profit art organization in the centre of Hong Kong. Para/Site produces, exhibits and communicates a program of international and local contemporary art, producing ambitious programs annually of exhibitions, seminars, catalogues, workshops and Hong Kong’s only bilingual arts publication.
My top picks on offer last night were works by Olafur Eliasson, Frog King Kwok, Joao Vasco Paiva, Shilpa Gupta, Ed Ruscha, Anthony McCall, Zhang Xiao, Mian Mian, Wang Chuan, Roslisham Ismail aka Tse, Ciprian Muresan.
Held in the uber cool Lane Crawford canteen at One Island South, would-be bidders were greeted by spiked watermelon coolers. Food was generously supported by the awesome couple Yenn Wong and Alan Lo, music by Nadim Abbas, and works auctioned off by the savvy Jehan Chu.
Congratulations to the Para-Site team for putting together a fantastic event!
The amphitheater for all things that I draw inspiration and take notice of, from art and architecture to global politics and travel.
