Simon de Pury talks about Design as Art. Looking beyond a piece of furniture as an item of complacency. I recently spoke with the SCMP’s Payal Uttam on this subject, and are in agreement - design is experiencing somewhat of a renaissance in the art world lead by artists like Ron Arad, Ai Wei Wei, Marc Newson.
Tomas Saraceno is one of my favourite artists… how do I fit one of his pieces into my little Hong Kong flat though??
